Yes! Being able to join long-ish (1-2 hours) events that have started is just real life ;) Maybe make it an option upon create?

I just started using this bot in my writing server and one thing we noticed right away was that once the event started, no one could mark if they were going to be there or not. Because my server uses time zones across the world, I think it would be fair to let others join the event even after it has started.

Yes, please. Some events can go on for a week or longer, and accept participants at any time. There are many use cases for this. I've already had problems with the inability to RSVP (or even edit) events that are currently in progress.
