SESH could mention a role for my polls instead of a member of the team managing the server mentioning it..

THIS! The functionality exists for events. Add it to polls. This is my biggest pet peeve with the bot in its current state.

It's probably a small tweak but you could add mentions to the poll. Just like it is for events. I don't see it anywhere and I think it wouldn't hurt :)
