I would suggest that there be a 00:00 and a 24:00 option. Sure, without context they both mean the same thing. However, June 3rd at 00:00 ≠ June 3rd at 24:00, but June 3rd at 24:00 = June 4th at 00:00. After all, some people perceive midnight as the end of the day, while others perceive it as the beginning of the next.
