Create an embed form to create events with dropdowns and date pickers, etc. pinned to its own channel instead of users using slash commands.
Devs: Discord's Components v2 might make this slightly more feasible (came out april 2025) https://discord.com/developers/docs/components/overview I believe maybe a hybrid approach using modals and templates could be possible In my server, I have a post with a select menu listing some options for templates. When they pick one, the link directly to the template is displayed so they can go to the sesh dashboard and create the event with the appropriate settings. A better way may be a button that creates a modal with the different text inputs for title, date, description, which either pre-loads the info in a dashboard page on send or functions the same as the slash command would. I don't think you can have select menus in modals still, so if mentions are desired, perhaps you could instead start with a select menu of mentionables, followed by a submit button that launches the modal, and then once the modal is submitted it takes the info from both. I dunno, just ideas! My server avoids the slash commands completely because it just doesn't work for us. I try to push people to the dashboard and the templates, but some visual in-discord version of the dashboard's event creation would be ideal.
