The way repeating events work has been a point of friction for my server members: users must opt in to be auto-RSVP’d to subsequent events in a repeating event series. While this seems like a simple ask, in practice my users aren’t aware they need to do it; they assume RSVPing signs them up for all the repeating events in the series. They just want to sign up for a recurring event once and have everything configured for them.
I’d like an option added during event creation that defaults this repeating event auto-re-RSVP behavior to “on” for all users; anyone who RSVPs to a recurring event will be automatically added to subsequent events in the series until they change their RSVP to “no” or the repeating event ends. When an event creator enables this option, the ephemeral confirmation message for RSVPing to a repeating event should present an opt-out button rather than an opt-in one, so users can still disable this behavior, but by default, users would be auto-added to all subsequent repeating events.
